Why would anyone pay them £9.99 per month??? You could order a statutory report every month and only pay £2. Or why not order one every 2 weeks, that'll still only cost £4!!

I ordered my online statutory credit report from Experian on 12th of July. On 15th of July instead of receiving pin code I received an email that the pin code was posted. The letter said that if I do not receive my pin code after three days contact them. On 20th of July I sent them email asking for a new pin code, immediately terminate the previous pin code in case it got in wrong hands and confirmation that previous pin code was not used. Since then I did not receive any communication from them. The end result is that after 10 days (8 working days) I am unable to see my credit report, but possibly some crooks already saw it. What next?

No negative feedback about Call Credit? Really? Those guys are the biggest bunch of incompetent shysters out there. I haven't applied for my statutory report, but I am 4 days into my 30-day free trial and have yet to gain access to any part of their system. (They claimed that they would send out a PIN to grant me access within 1-2 working days, but it's now 3 days and counting.) At this rate, my 30-day trial will be up before I get to see my report.

Also, however bad it may be to get stuck on an 0844 number, it is not possible to contact Call Credit by telephone *at all*: they're strictly email/post only. (And don't expect them to respond to email within a fortnight: they took 15 days to answer my last message.)

If it wasn't for this site confirming their legitimacy, I would have assumed that they were a scam.

    QC

P.S. That's not to say Experian is much better: you have to lie to them (saying that you are a victim of ID fraud and need urgent assistance) if you want to talk to them by phone. Only when you've done that do they reveal a number you can use to speak to them honestly.

The whole credit reference industry makes me feel angry and sad: have we, as a species, not managed to evolve past nonsense like this?

    *shakes head*

P.P.S. In case it helps anyone, *do not* call Experian on 0844 481 8000 (the number they give for complaints) unless you've been a victim of ID fraud; you'll only waste your money. (All other options lead you to a recorded voice telling you their email and postal addresses.) The number you really want (if there's a problem with your report) is 0844 481 0800. Expensive, yes, but at least you get to speak to someone.

Ditto CallCredit, registered last Monday and for the first week was told that they were "Validating my details" emailed them this Monday and was told I could now access my report.

    I can't..... So 10 days into a 30 day trial and nothing.

Never had problems with the other two though......

These delays are still on-going. I tried twice yesterday to get an online report from Experian and my OH tried in case it was just me... nothing available on-line. I have tried again today. Again, the service in unavailable.
So much for the Jume 2010 deadline!

There's no obvious problem with our online ordering system for statutory reports and we've had plenty of orders yesterday and today. I wonder whether it might be a setting on your computer. If you continue to have problems please get in touch using the address in my biog and we'll try to work out that the issue is.
