and I havent stopped beating myself up about it for the last week, I am moving to a fantastic property which is ideal for the family and get to give the keys back for our house and be over and done with completely and have the new start I wanted, but I am so ashamed of the way it was done. I didn't realise that I would be this way about br, its seemed really easy so far, everything has gone smoothly, we seem to be better off financially (potentially), and the or and everyone have been wonderful, and now psychologically I am beating myself up about what we've done.

has anyone else been like this or am I just being stupidly hormonal?

HUn I am just off but didn't want toread and run! New Start! look at it as a good thing, I will be gutted when i leave my home - but it gives me and Mr Looloo a new start together

You really don't need to beat yourself up - there is shared responsibility for debt between lenders and borrowers - in this case the lenders had to absorb a little loss. It's less than nothing to them! But it means everything to you to be free of the stress. You've suffered enough already but now you're free of debt don't make yourself suffer any more! You've done nothing immoral and now you and your family can relax. Focus on the good things in life!

Hi indebt, i have said previously how i have a postive attitude to our BR, having the house repoed was no different, we are now in a house we really like and there is plenty of room for us all.............however, now the old place has been sold and the new owners have spent the last few weeks ripping out everything we had done in the place over the last 12 years I am as gutted as the house, i cant believe i feel so emotional about it as we desperately wanted to move. My hubby doesnt understand at all, i dont think anyone does really because i have no right to feel like this, we got ourselves into this horrible mess so have no one else to blame, but im still gutted and very sad about the whole thing

I really hope you can get yourself out of this way of feeling, maybe once youre in the new place you can start to put it all behind you. Dont be embarressed, just think no one at the new place will have any idea why you moved and you dont need to tell them either, just look forward to a nice peaceful summer xx

IDIS i could have written that post myself nearly a couple of years back. I knew the BR was the right thing to do for my family but it didn't make the emotional side of it any easier. When our house was sold I felt carp all over again. But now we have moved for the 3rd time since deciding BR was the way to go and things are definately on the up.
The new owners of 'my' house have completely changed EVERYTHING we done over the last few years. At first it upset me. Now I don't really care. I'm in a better place.
It will get better over time and yes you are very very normal feeling this way.

Hi

I'm back and slightly less emotional today! I think when I sign the paperwork tomorrow morning it will be slightly easier as its all definately going ahead. It hit me quite hard after packing up our sons room about the whole situation and what we have done, but he's happy and gets a garden.

Although I must admit it was quite nice logging onto the lloyds tsb website and seeing that there is no debt there at all with them for the first time in what seems to be 10 years, that cheered me up, and then phoned up Barclays and was nice to hear that 2 months having the new bank account we have a tiny bit of savings to our name as all the bills have been paid for the whole month, its only £130 and will be used to buy a new car tyre but we still have money left over!

I think I underestimated the emotional side of bankruptcy, will take it one day at a time x
