Just a query, I defaulted on my loan in November 2006, and so thats what it states on my credit file, just a big D in that Nov 2006 box, and nothing since.
I have been paying it since, until recently when I got into bother again, but I hope to have it done and dusted by xmas.
When does the default leave my credit file? 6 years from the date of the default, Nov 12? Or 6 years from when its all cleared and closed, xmas 2016?
And with that on my file, does that mean Ill be unable to get a mortgage until 2016?
Many thanks

6years from the original default date.
It doesn't mean you definitely can't get a mortgage but it probably means you won't get the best deals around. As its nearly 4years old it won't be having as big an impact as it would if it was only just placed on your file,A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
