Bailiff Help Bristow and Sutor

Had a visit from Bristow and Sutor 9 days ago for this years council tax 2010-2011
I wasn't in and they charged me £180 for a Van a levy Fee of £56 and a redemption of goods fee for £24.50 on my father in laws car that was parked on the drive
They wont come to an agreement I had to borrow £600 and Ive got to pay £250 a month for the next free months

Seriously had enough

    No he left his car here while they went away. Its his car in his name

    Was this the first time they had visited?
    If so they are not allowed to charge for a van.

    If you did not let them in your house the max they can charge you is about £24 I think.
    You should be able to find details on what they are legally allowed to charge on baliffadviceonline website (run by a user on here). But baliffs often charge more than they are allowed. If they have then do challenge it. Write to them and tell them you know they have overcharged and inform the council as well that the baliffs they have appointed are acting illegally.

    Yes it was the first visit. No other visits or letters dropped off at all

    The levy is invalid, so they cannot charge for that. The Van fee cannot be charged unless there is a valid levy and collections have failed.

    The £24.50 for a first visit is a legitimate charge.

    Send a PM to Herbie21 and ask her to help you.

    In the meantime find out when your local councillor has his/her next surgery and book a slot. Then ask them to help get the illegal fees removed.
