Very Catalogue - New Customer asked to pay £10 Deposit!

Has anyone else been asked to pay a £10 deposit before Very Catalogue will release their first order?
I joined on Monday and was approved online a £250 Spending Credit Limit however my first order was held for several days. When I emailed them yesterday they said I had to pay £10 Deposit via Card before my order would be released and then I could place more orders up to my limit!
I assume its an extra form of Identification check but this seems a bit silly to me. Just about to call them to pay the deposit anyway but thought it was odd and wondered if anyone else had been asked to pay a deposit on their first order?

no didnt happen to me but I have been with them for years so maybe its a new thing?
