My OH and I took out a loan with First National to pay for our windows back in 1999 the loan did not seem to be going down as much as the payments but being quite naive we carried on paying. Anyway back in 2005 due to illhealth on both our sides and struggling to send our kid through Uni we got into problems and began to struggle to make the payments - eventually we got a letter from Asset Link Capital titled Sale of Debt saying that First National ( had assigned the policy to them and demanding full and final settlement - anyway we negotitated and finally managed to pay them off sometime in 2008; but now we have decided to make some charges claims on other cards we've begun wondering what was on this account, whether there was any PPI and why did it take so long to pay off. We are now wondering whether there any defaults against the account as well.
The plan is I think to make a SAR request on the account but do we do it jointly or just in one of our names - whenever they wrote we both had a letter each. and do we do it to asset link or first national (GE Capital).
Thanks for reading
