Does anyone know why I cant just ask the credit rating agencies to remove all my details under the data protection act?

I have a perfect history and I dont see why they should hold such a large amount of detailed info about my and my family.

I thought the only records that were expempt from the data proctection act and being deleted were your medical records but I am no expert?

thanks

JP

They have a right to hold the information - its explained on the ICO's website I think.

The electoral roll info they are allowed to hold legally, same with any legal judgements against you in court. For anything else shown on there you have given your permission to the lender at some point in time.
