recommendations for kennels in newtownabbey area

hello!

we are going on holiday in a couple of months and will have to, for the first time, put our dog into kennels (normally we manage to get someone else to look after him).
has anyone got any recommendations of kennels in the newtownabbey area - we live in glengormley and drive.

http://www.ballyharvey.com/ This one is very close to the airport. Our friends used to use it for their dog and we collected him from there for them on a few occasions. I was quite impressed by the set up and would probably use it for my own dogs if I couldn't use our regular kennel for any reason.

Also, there is Hillside Kennels. Again, haven't used it myself as it's not handy to us but have heard decent reports about it. Address is:

I would advise arranging to visit any kennels that you are considering beforehand and checking out the set-up for yourself to make sure you are comfortable with it and that it suits your dog's needs. Also, don't leave it too long to book as good kennels book up fast, especially over holiday times.

We now use Animal Ark, 60 Paisley Road, Carrickfergus, phone 93351004, last time we used Ballyharvey we came back early and the dog was filthy and smelly !!!.

The Animal ark is a family run kennels and I can not say good enough words about them, dog returns each time a happy lil bunny
