Shoes with a navy dress

I have bought a lovely dress - its from ebay and looked black, but its actually navy. I still love the dress - its just above knee length, comes in at the waste, and fits well.

But I havent a clue what shoes to go with it (or bag for that matter). The material has a lovely sheen to it - its the kind of dress I'd wear to a nice meal out.

I only have black shoes - but is this a no -no? I thought my black pantent shoes with bows would go well, but I have never worn navy so am having second thoughts. The dress is lined with black.

If not, what colour should I get - was thinking dark purple?

Thanks!

  • oooh - cream would work - I think I saw a cream pair in primark. Would you wear a cream bag as well?

I think navy and silver or gold look nice, some nice silver sandals with silver jewelery would look nice. I also have a navy and gold dress and the colours look lovely together! (not tacky, chavvy gold tho!)

Cream would look nice but you might need a tan (fake or otherwise) so not to look washed out by it!
