John Lewis Vouchers - would rather cash!

Hi,
Hope this isn't the wrong board to post.
I need some helpful advice! I have approx £1200 in John Lewis vouchers (from a wedding) - We've looked around & can't really find anything we need.
Any ideas / places I can swap for cash some how?
Thanks

you could always sell them on ebay in smaller amounts, but you'd have to sell them for less than they're worth for people to buy them. Don't think there's anywhere where you could swap them for £1200 cash, but maybe someone else will know.0

I bought a gift voucher some time ago as a wedding present and the assistant told me that if you buy a lower value item than the voucher face value that you get the change in cash.

Confirmed - my sister has been doing the same thing - buying something at £1 or £2 and using a £50 voucher, getting change in cash!0 -
Wow! Thanks - I will have to try that at the weekend...A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.0

What denominations are your vouchers in? Cause if you've got a load of £20 vouchers you're still going to have to buy alot of £1 things to get change back on £1200.0

After watching & buying vouchers on ebay, John Lewis vouchers always reach near enough their cash value. You do have to look at fees though. Can you not spend them in Waitrose over time on bargains & food we all eat & drink, then put the shopping money away which you would have spent to save for something else.0

We had thought about that - but we normally shop in morrisons so the price increase seems alot! Although the quality is much better!A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.0

Can I ask a question? Why did you ask for John Lewis vouchers in the 1st place?
How about a new TV, Washing Machine, Fridge/Feezer or PC.
They sell all those.0
