Has a company ever claimed to owe you money back?

I have an interesting story.
Many years ago I had a credit card (2k) and loan (5k) with a company then then consolidated both into one loan with the same company (7K).
But as it is they messed it up and just gave me the (7k), to which I paid debts elsewhere which worked out better and paid the credit card in full and cancelled it to which I was left with 2 loans. Both of which have been clear for a while.
Fast forward a good few years later and me and my finanee have been clearing debts together to which she applied for 0% cards and took debts off me to which freed my credit up to which I am now getting 0% cards and taking things back.
Anyway the said company were doing a 0% card deal so I applied, they said they still had me as an old customer so they would need to delete my old account and I would be classed as a new customer to which I agreed. Then they said there was a problem with a old account and it couldn't be deleted as there was a balance. They said they would call me back, while waiting my heart sank thinking how much do I owe etc.
Anyway they call back and say they owe me £1900!, of course I thought whats the scam so asked they could confirm with messaging on there own message service to which they did. I did actually double thick and asked many times if they were sure.
Fast forward a bit more and I have the money in the bank and £2500 on a 0% card.
It was so long ago that I don't have full records of all transactions then, but I am pretty sure that I would ahve realised if I had overpaid that much.
Either way its been a great boost to my debt clearing efforts.
Still trying to figure if its luck or I was really bad with my finances at the time and screwed up that badly.

Oh well, either way its good news now. Keep copies of all their paperwork/correspondance saying they owe you this money (just in case).
And good news on the 0% card as well.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I have copies of everything and did record a phone call too (I did mention I was going to record it to them).
Dare I say for whatever reason there has been a balance sitting on my account and they are just glad to clear a bit of there suspense account so I don't think its going to come back on me.
On the other front we have nearly got all debts onto 0% deals to which we should be able to clear them before they start charging interest.
I haven't really posted up a SOA in recent times, but tis gone from looking never ending to a DFD of around 11 months.
It does seem my credit file must be rock solid as I have recently got £5500 in 0% deals on cards and ther others lowered my interest rates when I phoned and said I wasn't happy about it.
With that I will still be around as I have learnt many money saving tips and come up with many myself and i will never be debt free as once its all cleared I will be after a mortgage.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017
