What would happen if.....?

I froze my credit cards in a tupperware filled with water. Just I have cleared two of them, and only want to use them if it's absolutely neccessary. So to enforce some discipline on myself, I want to somehow make them harder to use.

The idea is if I need to thaw them to use them, then it is more hassle using them than its worth.

Anyway, would it damage them?

it is one of the recommended tactic used by folk here except:

You only need one emergency card. Cancel the other and cut it up.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
