partially satisfied debt???

hi just looking for advice.
I got a debt with natwest of around £1200 that defaulted in 2008 i got in touch with natwest to pay it off and they past me to triton who asked me to make them a offer.
I made them a offer of £450 to clear the debt off my record and they said they would put it as "partially satisfied" and that would stay for the next 6 years is it bad to have that on ur credit file?.
Would i be better not to accept this offer unless they say its "fully satisfied" like my offer was to them or just make them a offer of £50 a month untill the money is paid? can they refuse my offer of £50 a month and take me to court for more? i dont really have more and will have a baby in 2 months time.
Any Help or advice would be great.
Cheers

Have you checked your credit file yet? You may already have a default on your file.
If you do and it was put there by triton, then they may be able to remove it as part of any agreement. If it was put there by Natwest then it will remain there for 6 years and have a big impact on your credit rating.
If they are saying that the credit file will be marked as partially settled, then that's pretty standard. If they are saying that the settlement is a partial settlement, then this is of no use to you as the remainder will stil lbe owed. Make sure they agree that the payment would be in full and final payment (before paying any money) and that you will not be liable for any outstanding amount.
