I'm getting married in September and will be doing my own makeup. I wear mineral makeup day to day but never bother with eyeshadow or mascara, except on a night out. My neighbour has said to me that for my wedding day I really ought to wear waterproof mascara as it doesnt smudge if I got a bit teary, is this true? I obviously want my makeup to stay in place as much as possible but is waterproof less prone to flaking little bits off etc? I have a MAC mascara at the moment that I'm happy with so dont want to buy a more expensive waterproof one if they aren't that great.

Hi
I normally use waterproof mascara or I unfortunately end up with unsightly panda eyes by the end of the day. I must have tried loads of mascara's before I found one by Blinc. It covers your lashes in little tubes which can only be removed by warm water and gentle scrubbing.
I find that it doesn't clump and my lashes look great. It has a lovely 'deep' colour which empahsizes lashes. I managed to get it for £10 at a beauty trade show however I think it normally retails about £18.

Thanks, i've just had a look at their website and the mascara looks great. Is it easy to remove though? I wasn't sure if you'd have to rub your eyes quite a lot to get it to come off.2013: Interflora Vouchers, Christmas Decorations, NNUK goody bag, thermos flask, macwet gloves0

It is really easy to remove. I normally get a warm wet face cloth and gently massage my eye area in a circular motion. It comes off in literally 30 seconds.

i have never used waterproof mascara b4 but one day i went out in the rain with usual mascara on - and thought will look out for one. the first one i have bought is the Avon waterproof one (it is pictured with a blue wand/supershock), and so far i love it. it really works! it feels a bit thicker than my usual clinique high impact (bonus time samples) but at least it doesn't smudge. however when taking off i need to be more patient with the remover! i think it's £3 atm which is why i bought it now - but need to look when to order by otherwise usually £8

I tried the Blinc one and didn't like it at all, it did nothing for my lashes and bits kept coming off also dd tried it when she went swimming and had the same problem with bits everywhere:( I would suggest that you stick with the mascara you like and know and invest in a clear sealer, Clarins do a very good one and She Laq from Benefit is good too, this one comes with a small set of brushes so you can use it elsewhere for example to tame and style brows - hth:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I recently switched to a waterproof mascara because in the heat I´ve found my mascara has smudged. I bought Bourjois Waterproof Easy mascara as it´s easy to remove. I´m pleased with it as it lasts all day- and didn´t come off when I went swimming, but it does come off easily. I don´t use eye-make up remover, just facial wash, warm water and a flannel.

I have blinc and really like it, but be warned, it's not a particularly "dramatic" mascara. It does, however, stay in place like no other mascara I have ever used! L'Oreal have also bought out a version, which can be used to build up lashes a bit more, if that helps.0

One little suggestion, instead of mascara, why don't you have your eyelashes tinted? Either in a salon (or at home, it's not difficult to do.) Then it you wanted extra definition on the day, you could use a clear masacara over the top (with or without using curlers). No need to worry about panda eyes if you get weepy and also, handy for your honeymoon if you like swimming.0

I wasn't keen on blinc either as I found bits kept coming off. I loved the kanebo one that was similar but they stopped making it for the European market. I now use the boujois clubbing mascara which isn't technically waterproof but has huge staying power as it was designed for clubbers (outs for days at a time sweating it out in a club!) so should be suitable for a wedding. It gives lots of volume and isn't particularly subtle! If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

My mum has spent best part of her life looking for a good quality waterproof mascara and she's now settled on the Blinc one mentioned above. She's a contact lense wearer and has very watery eyes, but it doesn't budge. She also finds it really easy to remove which is important to her. I used a Lancome waterproof one on my holiday last year and that was brilliant. It lasted through swimming, even when I rubbed my eyes afterwards, so I'd personally recommend it.Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.0
