Need advice on two scenarios..

    she has her own house, that she lived in for 15 years with my dad. it was her house, as in the house was in her name. She paid all the bills, she really was a sucker.

    Its not a case of her "not having the money" - the partner, i think she is just trying to get the kids to pay

    Hi Dan, I'd just ignore her!!! She arranged everything so let her pay for everything. I don't think anyone can be liable for you're dad's debts unless they were in joint names.

    Get the CAB to offer advice, from what you have told us, you are not liable for the debts nor the funeral costs, and then tell the partner what the CAB has advised, I think she is trying it on, don't ignore her, but get it sorted with free advice from the CAB.

    did your dad ever serve in the armed forces or TA? If so SSAFA can sometimes help with funeral costs if there is no money.
