Sometimes in life. You look at a situation whether it be personal or business and realise that whats required is fundamental change. Not making a political statement here just a personal observation.

I would imagine that what happened 60-70 years ago is totally relevant as that was the last time we were in a similar financial mess i.e. six years of world war to pay for 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. I would be very much against people with pensions of below around 25k, who have worked very hard (and publishing work can be extremely hard, with long hours without overtime pay) for more than 40 years, and who have contributed to society not the least by paying tax for all those years, having their promised benefits taken away from them. It would be morally wrong and unjustified.
With regard to NI, bear in mind that many pensioners have paid this for 40–45 years, and that when younger people retire they will also stop paying NI.
I agree with you it is just that I think people on poor wages should have equal benefits/tax allowances.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. I was referring to the creation of the Welfare state, and other aspects of peoples lives which have changed enormously in that time frame.
I remember the days when "socialists" weren't capitalists, and the Labour party represented the working man. Times have changed. Few retain their true values.
When did we finally finish paying for the Wars?

Not with the Tories in, for sure :eek:When did we finally finish paying for the Wars?
I thought the final payment for the 2nd WW was paid in the past couple of years.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is.
