OU - getting credit from the OUSBA?

As the titles says really, I am looking to study with the OU, as I can't go back to my previous type of job I thought I would start to retrain, I already have some credits with them anyway from previous study so makes sense to continue with them.

Anyway, I don't have the money to pay for the course upfront, and seem to remember someone somewhere on this forum saying that they had got a loan from the OUSBA no problem even when BR or just discharged?

Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks!

Hey Doucam - can't help at all but wanted to wish you all the best of luck in getting on your course - what are you hoping to study?

    Yep. Me!!

Was disharged though when I applied for a new one. Oddly, my old OUSBA account was still giving me little green o's on my credit file until I applied for a new course; all the way through BR! There wasn't a problem with having the new account and no-one mentioned BR at all.

Thanks skylight, I'll give it a go then!

Sunny, they do a counselling course, which starts off with the OU and then moves onto an accredited course, so I thought I would start with the OU and then do the others in a couple of years when I can afford it and I can go and study as the boys will be older.

I am choosing counselling because of what we have been through, and thought I would like to help others in this situation and of course others in different situations.

Or I might look at a child care/understanding children type course, dunno yet, I will have a good browse at the courses and decide and then apply, fingers crossed!
