Hi there
I am an australian living in the UK on an ancestry visa. I have been here for a year so far and plan to be here for atleast 4 more. The problem I have is I have an outstanding credit card account back in aus for the equivelent of £3500 which I am having problems making payments on. I have a few debts eqating to about £700 here but am on a payment plan for them. I have tried to get a credit card over here for transfer of balance but to no avail. Everytime I have to make a payment on my aus credit card, it costs me money for the transfer and takes time for it to appear in my account and then theirs. Would I be best to try for a loan over here to clear all debts and then have the one payment? Can anyone suggest any other options? I work full time as a carer (live-in) so I clear just under £300 pounds a week and dont have rent or food to pay, just really internet, phone, travel and lincidental living costs. However I have only been doing this for 4 months now. Can someone help me with advice on how to get out of this vicious cycle.:(
cheers

Could you not make a payment to a relative in Oz that could pay on your behalf but it would then be free? Not sure how it works, I got a loan to clear my debt and it worked for me but some people take out more credit and get themselves deeper into debt.No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
