DWP Overpayment

I'm furious reading through all these threads.
I've been asked to repay an overpayment of £86. Not a lot you might think but after the catolgoue of errors both my partner and I experienced after claiing job seekers allowanace for a only a few months it's ridiculous. When we first went to sign on the lady dealing with us didn't even know the standard weekly rate of allowance we'd get! We had appointments cancelled but not informed of so we'd turn up and get told it had been cancelled and the latest is them accusing me of not telling them I'd started work when I have a letter confirming my benefit would stop from the day after I started work!
A catolgue or errors on their behalf and we are made to suffer. I have no confidence in this service and hope that I never have to use it again.
It will have cost them more to try and recover this debt! The system is not right. When people abuse the system to get new clothes for interviews (which they purposefully perfom badly in), have no intention of looking for work yet are paid week in week out yet honest hard working people need a bit of support while they get back on their feet with a new job are punished.
No wonder the country is where it is!0 -
I wonder if any one can give me some advice... I received a letter today from Dwp Debt Management saying i owe £120.69 from 0ct 2007 saying i worked in a college ... i studied part time in the college .. but i have been working full time since 2004 so i cant see how i can owe this money i have not claimed any benefits i think the last time was about 12 years ago.. after speaking to this man on the phone he said i am putting you down as a REFUSUAL i said i will go to the DWP myself he said they will only put you on to us... so was just wondering what my next step should be..0

I would write to them stating that you have not received any benefits in the last 12 years, also stating that you have never worked in a college, only studied part-time (providing dates) and could they provide more detailed information such as exact dates and what benefits you are supposed to have received during this period, as you do not understand where this debt has come from.0
