Mobeer, it would be interesting. I'd like to see things like:
1. Employee deaths per megawatt-hour, including things like falls from wind turbines and other heights such as transmission lines as well as coal mining and oil and gas exploration and production and construction accidents.
2. Non-employee deaths per megawatt-hour, for the more intangible things like pollutant release, that could include anything from excess deaths from those with heart trouble due to pollution to increased radiation exposure as well as direct and obvious deaths like those from a storage site explosion.
3. Eyesore costs for such things as wind farms and power lines in the countryside. Having the California hills look like pincushions instead of hills didn't really inspire me when I first saw that effect (the windmills rising above the crown of the hills, so they look like pins stuck in the hills).0 -

Nice to see that you propose to have this reported in a totally non-biassed way. Could I suggest this is in the form of a verbatim question and answer session please (a transcript) to ensure we get to read everything that is and perhaps isn't said in relation to the specific questions posed?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I would have thought, Martin, that protocol suggests that you do the interview.0

I guarantee that AtCost Energy is all hype as others have already spotted.
If Ebico is anything to go by, then expect to pay MORE Overall for your energy than British Gas tarrifs!
I've just been on Ebico's website which showed that for the last quarter that Ebico chage £8 less for Gas and charge £32.37 MORE for electricity !
If Ebico is a not-for-profit company then they must have one heck of a cost base !!!Coincidence is The Lord's way of remaining anonymous0 -

It is not their cost base that is the problem - the problem is that the other suppliers have multiple tariffs and lots of customers sitting on more expensive tariffs subsidising the headline cheaper ones. Plus, of course, those on more costly meters with Ebico are not paying their fair share. Plus they have a single tier rather than two tier or daily standing charge - which means those costs are hidden in their unit prices. (I am always amused when people claim Ebico's single-tier tariff is more transparent than standard tariff structures.)
[STRIKE]I would say £2* per month is a perfectly acceptable premium for the advantages and conveniences Ebico offer - although the difference for most would be much higher than your quote.[/STRIKE]
*Oops, sorry, you're quoting by quarter not by year. Never mind.
Still I am confused that At Cost were expecting to charge 'at cost' rather than 'transparently after costs' in a non-profit sense. That was just weird.0 -
