I dont know if this is the right place to post this but could do with some advice as havent been in this situation before...
As some people may know I had a post on Up You Income basically slating how much I hate my current job.
Now lately I've been having tummy aches and it feels like my IBS has made a dramatic return and is now causing me some problems.
Wednesday it got so bad I was crippled over my desk so I went home and got to the walk in doctors. They said I had an Urinary Tract Infection and gave me antibiotics and said that it could affect my IBS as its all in the same area.
Took antibiotics and rest of night and Thursday my stomach was in agony, Friday started to come around but still a bit dodgy so I stayed off work to make sure I was better.
Saturday my antibiotics course was done and was feeling much better so continued to enjoy my weekend.
Last night I had dreams that I was running late to work (they are really strict) and woke up feeling slightly stressed and by the time I was 10 minutes away from work my tummy had started playing up all over again and now its almost (but not quite) at the crippling stage.
I hate my job (cannot emphasise this enough) and I'm moving house this week so I was just wondering if its stress related?
If it is, what can I do? When I think about the house move I'm excited but not so stressed because I enjoy moving house and getting everything organised. But when I think of work I get tummy pains and anxiety.
Like I said, I've never been in this position before. Do doctors understand stress related illnesses and will they be able to do anything other than say chin up and get on with it?
Before anyone suggests, I am currently actively looking for a new job
Thanks

Before I continue, this isn't in the right category but I'm sure a guide will move it to discussion in due course.
I sympathise with you. You are obviously under a lot of stress at the moment ie not liking work, moving house etc. This is no doubt playing on your mind, and can cause IBS (I'm no doctor, that is for them to diagnose).
It may be time to pop along again. Tell them you are stressed out and the likelihood is that they will give you some medication and time off work. Don't do what I did a few years back, and let it build up, then have a nervous breakdown. Deal with it now.

I have stress related ibs, but I also had panic attacks especially if I thought I was going too far away from home, because I wouldn't use public toilets or any toilet that wasn't my own. As you can imagine it made my life a misery so I told the Doctor and I now have anti depressants as it was all mind related.
So what I'm trying to say is go to see your Doctor if the infection is cleared and the ibs symptoms are still there, explain to them how you feel. They may send you for councelling first to what triggers your symptoms, it may be work related or some other underlying reasons, but I urge you to go.
I'm sorry that it is affecting your working day, I don't work (I'm not on any benefits either before anyone jumps in) so It was easier in a way as I didn't have to go out if I didn't feel like it.
Get some help and I wish you well.
