Xanthan gum

Hi,

I brought some Xanthan gum, but can't remember why :rotfl:

Can anyone tell me what you use it for? It's the Gluten free type. I'm thinking i may have got it as a replacement for something that was maybe in a recipe from the USA, but i don't know :cool:

Hi, it's used in Gluten free bread to make it bond better. I've been trying to get some today but all the shop assistants keep looking at me like i'm talking gibberish.

That's what i seem to have found, but i don't mak anything gluten free :cool: Candles, Soaps, Bath Bombs, Bath Salts, Cakes, Chocolates but not gluten free

u can use it to thicken things like stews soups etc but u only need a little otherwise it goes slimey

btw i bought it in tescos in the health food area

yes it is used in lowcarb diet as a thickener and also for bread making etc.. .that why i have it
