Is it worth my partner working?

I'm a full time carer and my partner is a full time mother. In September our lil one will be in nursery 15 hours a week. Is it worth my partner finding a pt job? We are in receipt of income support and carers allowance.

Are you saying that you care for somebody else in your house? Or do you not live together?Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

-You're receiving carers allowance. In September your little one will be in nursery for 3-4 hours per day.
-The thing is you want your partner to find a part time job but you are both full-time carers. Are you both full-time five or seven days a week?
-You've got to think about the what days you're/ your partner is available for work....it's important to take the first step...action=reaction..0 -
The simple fact is if you are able to work then you work, less drain on the benifits system.Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.0

I was about to say it depends if you want to work for a living or be in receipt of benefits?Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

You can't really answer that without thinking about what kind of wage your partner would be likely to earn.
Think about the number of hours he/she would be available for work, the skills and experience s/he has and look at the wages currently being offered for the kind of job s/he would be likely to get. Some part time jobs pay very well (a part time PA or senior admin job could quite easily take home £20k plus pro rata), some are minimum wage (factories, shops - although hours in those tend to be more flexible), but many will have the option of overtime to boost earnings as well.
Bear in mind that if the days your partner is able to work are restricted, jobhunting may be a little more difficult (it's tricky enough as it is at the moment) , so it's not a bad idea to start sussing out the jobsmarket, working on CV'c, considering part time training courses etc straight away0 -
Can you look after your child as well as fulfilling your caring responsibilities while your wife works? That way, she could look for more hours. Or could she work evenings while you look after the little one? Even though you say you are a full time carer, it may be possible to look after your child as well.0
