Nah! don't waste the price of a phone call. If they phone you then give them your BR and leave it at that. Some may carry on chasing for a while until they hear from the OR. If they become a nuisance then just start playing with them.
For example when you answer the phone start going through security and then say that some one is at the door and you will be back in a minute, put the phone down and go off and have a coffee for half an hour
. Or answer the security questions wrong
. Just have fun.
The OR has 8 weeks to inform your creditors. Any letters just pass on to the OR.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Call the creditors...? And miss out on all the fun???

They'll still bug you even if you give them all your BR details. You should instead let them call.... very often
and make them wait on the phone for veeeery long periods of time. BR 22/10/2009 ED 08/07/20100 -
I never bothered, just told them I had gone BR when they rang me:):pB&SC No. 298

Personally I'd recommend doing it. No offence to people who say don't waste money on phone calls, but IMHO a few calls is nothing and in my experience (at least) its been hugely beneficial.oohitsproperbo wrote: »and tell them I'm bankrupt

I phoned all my creditors once my details were on the insolvency site (so within a week of going BR) and told them and also posted them all a letter saying I'd gone BR and also included a copy of the BR order. Other than one call that weekend from my credit card company, I have had no calls since and only letters I've had since going BR are monthly statements (they've both said they have to send them by law until the debt is technically closed) from both my loans. Thats it. Now I might just have been lucky, but I put the lack of chasing/hassle down to ringing them and the letters.0
