I am looking to hire a coupler of pieces of exercise equipment that me and my partner can put in our spare room as I have taken a pay cut at work and can't really afford the gym anymore. Probably a bike and a crosstrainer. Can anyone recommend a company that is reasonably priced? Many thanks.

i done exactly this last year, but i didn't hire them, get on to ebay and the yellow paper, you will find lots of good quality used equiptment for sale.

i bought a bike, cross trainer and a rowing machine to put in my loft, i then put up a small lcd t.v so i can watch it from any machine.

the machines cost me around £100 for all 3 in total. i know i could re sell them at any time for the same amount as i paid for them as they were all second hand ( the bike was only a week old,it still had wrapping on it).
saves you paying to rent stuff. buy it use it then sell it later. you will find you break even.

If you live in the Glasgow area go to Blochairn car boot and see what equipment is around. There is usually a variety on offer. Know it can be expensive to hire and you can buy second hand really cheap. If you are in a different area look at the local auction houses. There are some cheap gyms also. Some are linked to colleges and others are linked to sport like boxing.

I agree about buying 2nd hand as we previously did the same as you and ended up paying £48 for 12 weeks hire of a treadmill - sure it was a great treadmill however would be much cheaper to buy 2nd hand in the long run. Place we hired from ids no longer in business but try here: http://www.fitnesstakeaway.com/

    Hope this helps. x
