Scholl Hydrasteps

OK, I spotted these in the Boots magazine, not the most recent issue, and I feel tempted. Only because I've got lots of points to use, no way would I spend that much on something like this which I will only wear round the house.

But I do need something cool and comfy to wear around the house: I hate flip-flops with toe posts, my fake crocs cripple me, and I've got some flat plastic mules atm but they're not comfy either.

Has anyone else succumbed, and are the Scholl ones comfy? There are mixed reviews on the Scholl site.

No, there are some parts of the house where I just can't cope with bare feet!

I'm with the bare foot brigade too! But I do have some slipper type things for when I take out the bins or need to wash the floor. I got mine from Next for £3 a few years back and they are excellent as I can just bung them in the washing machine after a few uses and they are perfectly fresh again!

I'd recommend getting something washable as they just last longer- your less likely to chuck something you can just wash the dirt from and they are also much more comfy then hard plastic types, when I am at home I like to feel comfortable, if you are looking specificly for hard shoes why not try the crocs flipflops? they are around £10 from Sports Direct, even better are flipflops in the sale or on market stalls. Much cheaper ;)

I can't bear flip flops with a toe post, and I'm a bit loathe to try crocs given what croc type shoes do to me: I can't even wear them round the house in the evenings without getting serious calf pain and very stiff ankles. I know they're not 'real' crocs, but I can't see that the real thing are that different in mechanical terms.

My sister raves about her scholls, although she has the wooden sole ones. She used to be on her feet all day and they were the only thing she could wear as they were so comfy. In fact you have just reminded me - I should get her some more as a pressie!

My chiropodist recommended "flyflot" footwear, as I'm on my feet a lot and always fighting hard skin on my heels. They are leather/suede and supposed to be a very well made comfortable shoe, lots of good reviews on the site.

Pavers shoes have several pairs that I'd happily wear around the house in their "Sale" section under £14.99 (this is less than half price).

I like "Margo" in pink, Faith, Maya, Buddleia.

Actually, at that price, think I could be talking myself into a pair.

I've had a pair of flyflots in the past, and yes, they are very comfortable. They do come up quite wide tho' - I have very shallow feet, so my pair were fully adjustable with velcro. Another option is fitflops (they do a pair without the toepost). Very comfortable, but perhaps a bit expensive for indoor use only.

Now you lot are leading me astray ...

Actually, being even more MSE, I may trawl through the wardrobe and double check I haven't got any other slip-ons I could try out. I know DH has a spare pair (because he forgot to take them away last time we needed them on holiday!) but they are very boringly black!

I'd never have asked about the hydrasteps if they hadn't been that lovely pink! :rotfl:
