Can we contest a CCJ?

Hello all,
I'm hoping someone can give me some advice.
We found a CCJ on my husband's credit report that he had no knowledge of. It is from 2007, and I am assuming that they sent the paperwork to an old address of his.
I have written to the court today to ask for details of the case - does anyone know what the possible options are? It is only for a few hundred pounds and we can afford to pay it off, but obviously it affects his credit rating considerably - are there any possible outcomes that involve it being removed from his records?
Many thanks.

Hi
The only option that would remove it is if you could get it set aside.
This can be done in certain circumstances such as if you never actually owed the money or if they did not send court papers to his last known address. Unfortunatley if he hadn't informed them of his address change (or cannot prove that he did) then it is acceptable to still send the paperwork there.
