Football Season Ticket Help Needed

Hello,
Can anyone help me,my brother has a season ticket with Sunderland Football Club.He decided to set it up over three direct debit payments on an interest free basis he paid the 1st payment in June which was for 114.00 then the 2nd payment in july which was for 113.00.However he was made redundant shortly before the 3rd payment for 113.00 was due to be taken. He cancelled the direct debit to avoid being charged by his bank.
He was sent a letter from the football club to say he had until thursday 7th september to pay.He called and explained his situation and asked for an extension of 1 week as he has started a new job and gets paid a week in hand.
He was told by the ticket office that he must return the season ticket to there office at once as it was there property, and they would not allow him any extension.
Does anyone know where he stands he thought he was doing the right thing by ringing them up to resolve the situation.
He has paid more the two thirds of the ticket and they say its there property-he asked if he would get his money back minus the games he had watched if were to return the ticket.
The assistant said oh we will have to see what we can do.
I think they are being really unreasonable-he has been as season ticket holder for 11 years and not missed a payment in the past.
They reckon they will but his ticket up for general sale if he doesn't pay by tomorrow.

Not at the moment,Im on maternity leave so my funds are a bit low as Im not getting full pay.He has now worked out he can afford to pay them on monday,so I think he's going to send a cheque today.
I think whats upset him the most is the fact that the lady he spoke to started laughing at him near the end of the call.
He has email the manager at the ticket office but had no response.0 -
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, mebbe you should get your brother on here so we can help him with his finances.
Then he may have had the money to pay for it in savings
Dont mean to sound harsh there, then again supporting Sunderland, money is prob the least of his worries0 -

Wouldn't normally advocate something like this, but if he knows he will definitely have the money in a week, I'd do something like this. Is there anyone he can borrow off for a couple of days or something like that?
Might be worth complaining about the rude treatment he received, wouldn't have thought Sunderland can afford to annoy loyal supporters0 -
Tell him to write to them and state that he has explained their actions to Newcastle United, and that Newcastle are prepared to offer him a five-year season ticket f.o.c. providing they can use this in their publicity:rolleyes:
Should go down like a lead balloon with Sunderland:DI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Tell him to phone up and ask to speak to Phil Clarkson directly. I've always found him canny when sorting out any problems with tickets.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0
