Hi there
We are looking to replace our old sofa preferably with a leather one. We bought our old one from SCS and its a perfect size for us. When it was delivered it came in half and fastened together underneath as our PVC door is fairly narrow. However when we look at the SCS site they dont seem to stock this sort of thing anymore, anyone have an idea who might

It might be a good idea to measure your door and take the measurements with you. I did not think they would get our leather sofas into our lounge without using the french windows, but they have a way of doing it and had no problem, they put them on end and sort of wriggled them through. Is your door more narrow than normal or are you just wondering how they will do it?What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I was going to suggest those too - we bought our current sofas and chairs from them five years ago and they're the best we've ever had and were simple to put together.0 -
Our last suite was a tetrad one and the sofa came in two halves (granted it was rather large) but it fitted through our narrow front door and hallway. We changed our sofas in January and had to take the window out this time as the large sofas were not sectional and would not be persuaded to go through the doorway in any way shape or form.0

The way I get sofas into/out of doorways is to stand them on their end, with the seating area facing one side, them "pivot" them around the door frame. Obviously it can still be a problem with super narrow doors, or super large sofas. For this to work, the width of the door-hole needs to be larger that the depth from the crease of the seating/back area to the corner where the base meets the back.
I didn't know sofas did come apart until I was involved in somebody's move last year and one of the packing men took it apart... even the two other removals men hadn't seen that before; it was lucky the first guy knew.
I don't plan on getting furniture as it is troublesome to manoevre.... Plan A is a big bean bag.0 -
I have this problem - changed my door since buying my sofas and now have no way of getting them out!
I only discovered this the year before last when I bought new ones and couldn't get them in - lost £200 deposit.0 -
I realised before I bought them that they weren't going to go through the doorway but knew that removing the window wasn't particularly labour intensive.0
