Car Boot buy/sell challenge

I've decided to be one of those early bird lurkers and get to car boot sales as early as possible after being inspired by a friend of mine who would only buy an item for 50p and sell it on ebay for a nice little profit - this paid for her gym membership in the build up to her wedding.
So - 1st car boot visited this morning and bought an I-Cyber pet dog; retails for roughly £100 in the shops. Only thing missing was charger and instructions (which can easily be downloaded) - bought for £5. Found someone on ebay selling same item for over £40 so see how that one goes!
Also bought 2 books on the Royal Family from the 1930's (publications from the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth's dad and his before that) - bought for £1 each, found same books with people asking about £20 per book.
I'm excited to see how my first car boot purchases sell, so I'll keep you all posted.
I would love to hear of anyone else that has done this and what's the most they've made!

Debt as of Sept' 2015 (LBM!): £36,351  (sickening)
Monthly outgoings on debt alone: £1243/month
We're on the right path, we got ourselves here..we're a bit lost, but we'll find our way back again!

Good morning!
Sunday car boot update: today I bought 2 retro mugs (1980's cartoon characters) for 50p each which were brand new. Didn't want to risk too much so only bought 2 and have put them straight on ebay.
Fingers crossed!Debt as of Sept' 2015 (LBM!): £36,351  (sickening)

Ironically we're doing our own car boot sale on Saturday because we have got a load of stuff that would be too awkward to sell on ebay ourselves - I'm looking out for proper bargains - like the toy dog I bought and the mugs....you never know they might not sell on ebay at all but it's worth a try!
Update: I've got 2 watchers on the toy dog and one watcher on one of the mugs....fingers crossed!

Good luck with the sales Liz.
I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but as soon as you buy something to sell on you are a business and so should register as such with the HMRC. Just be careful someone doesn't report you (this could happen on ebay too). You can sell as much of your own stuff as you want though.
I love booting, it's great fun and there are some real bargains to be had out there! Good luck!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
