Finances in a mess and my Husband and I work so hard and are on good money. But, we have been to the bank and want to try to work out a plan but all they do is what we already do and run Income and Expendures past us. Real help. Have about £15k on cards, £25k on loans and 3500 overdraft. Have been to debt free direct and it seems good but five years and it's all clear ????..and they won't tell us the monthly repayment. We are managing to pay our mortgage and live, but there must be a way out of this. Just don't know where to start and life is so bad I cannot take the strain much longer but don't worry, I would never do anything stupid. That is selfish and not me.Anyone who knows what I am going through ..please help me.

Bluediamond, firstly well done for posting, this is the first step to getting things back on track. Get it all out it the open, bandy around ideas on this site and get a plan in place then you'll feel alot more in control of your life.
Can you post some more details about the loans and credit cards i.e which company they are with, APR, that sort of thing. The more info you provide the more the wonderful people on this site can help. Believe me there are some fab people here who will help you immensely.0 -
Don't go anywhere near Debt Free Direct or any other 'provider' who offers you a way out of debt for a nice fat monthly fee. Contact CCCS or Payplan from the links on this site. They are both charities who don't charge for their services. They will help you to look at what you owe, what you have coming in, what you need to live on and what you can realistically afford to pay. The important thing is that all of the money you can afford to pay will go to your creditors.
Things will seem really bad just now - quite a few of us on here have been in the same place as you (or even worse) - and we are all getting on with things and life is getting better.
As soon as you've made your first contact with CCCS or Payplan you'll start to feel a bit better. It is tough for the first few months as you get used to living on a budget, not relying on credit and deal with creditors sometimes giving you grief re the offers that are made. But it does get better.
Two and a bit years into my Debt Management Plan I can sleep at night without worrying what telephone calls or letters the next day brings. My level of debt is decreasing year on year for the first time in my adult life.
Go on - make the call. Keep on touch through the board. Everyone really is very supportive.0 -
Hello, welcome and hugs.
You will have so much help from everyone here - the first thing is to post an SOA - a statement of affairs, there is a sticky at the top of the thread and you can post all your incomings and outgoings.
Please please please do not use Debt Free Direct. You will be paying for a service the CCCS can help you with for free.
Be brave, chin up, deep breath, you are amongst friends, we will help you.0 -
Hello there and welcome!
Have a look on this thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=107280 to help you post a full statement of affairs for us to be able to advise you better.
Things may seem doomed but you will get through it. Just don't sign up with anyone that charges youa fee for their services. There are plenty of free charities that can help you, if need be, for free and impartial advice.
Hang in there xxLeason learnt :beer:0 -

You'd be surprised at how many people are on here, lurking ready to give support and advice - there seems to be thousands sometimes. They say the first step is the hardest but you'll get some fab advice if you hang around here. The only way is up from now on- but first a few hard figures to face up to I'm afraid- you've gotta get it down in black and white and get some free help - from a charity not some company that'll rip you off. Good Luck with it all - there's almost always someone around to help - though you get more help in the day when people are at work using this site.Making my money go further with MSE :j

If you post your SOA on here we'll help you properly. Banks are not interested in helping.0
