Fringes

I had my hair cut on Thursday and I absolutely hate it.
My hair before was just down to my bust and I usually just wore it in a side parting. I showed the lady in the hairdressers a style that was about 2 inches shorter with lots of layers in and a very thin whispy fringe that could be used as a main fringe or side sweeping.
The length she has cut it to barely rests on my shoulders and has a horrible thick full on fringe, all in all the style makes me look like a boy and makes me look like I'm 12 (it looks like I have a wig on my head too)
What can I do to make the style work, or to try and stop the fringe from looking so harsh as I grow it out?
At the moment I've slung it back in little stubby ponytail with lots of mousse and hairspray.

I'd go back to the salon, ask to speak to the manager and say you are unhaooy with what you paid for. They will either restyle it (free of charge) to be closer to what you wanted or help you out restyling it and explaining what you can do.0

Bunnie, I feel for you hun:(I gave up on hairdressers many years ago, no matter what I do to my hair it could never look as bad as they made it look:eek:
I think accessories may become your new best friend, pin some or all of the fringe back to one side, depending on your style you could use a sparkly clip or the very versitile kirby grips, you could also try and put it up in a very loose fold at the back using the kirby grips, lots of hairspray required, alice bands or headbands (the thin ones) also look nice and are on trend also a thin silk scarf tied bandana style looks good but again it depends on your style, wavy messy hair covers a multitude, aussie mouse is good.
If you really are distraught (trust me i've been there) there are always extensions, try the clip in ones (they are cheaper and more versitile then a salon job) and you can get fringe pieces too have a look at the sites below to get some ideas - best of luck hun;)

try putting your hair in a side parting then clip your fringe over and spray lots of hairspray to keep it in place. you'll be surprised how fast it will grow out aswell give it a few weeks and it will be fine. *hugs* for you though cos i know how totally carp it is getting a bad hair cut.0

At least you realised so soon that the thick fringe doesnt suit you... i had one for over a year and it's only when i look at pics after i grew it out because i was fed up of cutting that i think it looks weird.
I'd clip some back or to the sides & brush the rest to the side as it grows. Stock up on kirby grips. If you straighten it it can make it seem thinner too.0
