Mystery Shopping help

Hi guys
I've bin doing mystery shopping, but only to find out it was a scam.
I found the ad in my local newpaper. it had a email address :
I email him .
(thmherr@consultant.com ) he then reply back asking me for my address which I give it to him so he could send me a cheque for 2k  . then he ask me to cash it in my bank which I did :wall: then on the 7th of july my bank send me a letter with the cheque back telling me that the cheque was unpaid for. I've done mystery shopping before so I though it was just like the others. anyway I'm just wanted to warn you all that this person called Thomas Herring is a scamer.

Did you actually do any mystery shopping or did he just ask you to cash a dodgy cheque for him? If someone sends you a cheque for a large amount of money for not really doing anything then think the alarm bells need to start going off :)
Check out the mystery shopping thread for some suggestions of companies and if you find any other ones yourself check they have a valid website and postal address not just an email address and look for reviews for them online.

Unbelievable that you would fall for this.
Please please do yourself a favour in future and ask advice before acting on such things :)

It would be interesting to know if you are out of pocket over this.

This is quite a well known scam, actually. However, there are always going to be people new to mystery shopping who haven't heard the warnings so it's good to publicise it for them.

Glad to know you are not out of pocket on this.

Haha, what a tube! I have absolutely no sympathy for you, even a 5 year-old could see right through this.

I suggest you stay indoors and keep your doors locked and never venture out into the big bad world ever again!!
