edited 10 July 2010 at 10:39AM in It's gone, but was it any good?
It might be too late now but it’s worth passing on.
My spouse and I were given a few shares in Santandar following the takeover of Alliance and Leicester.
Just for filling in the annual voting form they sent us both an umbrella.
It’s bright red (the Santandar colour) with santandar written on it, but if its good enough for Jenson Button and Louis Hamilton then its good enough for me.
Trying to learn something new every day.

They must be giving away the surplus stock! All staff got some when a big promotion happened last year. It was good timing considering the awful weather we were having.

I click the open button, the umbrella opened up and launched itself like a rocket. I was left with the handle in my hand and a bemused look on my face.

    Enjoy!

You only need to buy a few shares in Companies to get perks. Although most Stockbrokers and Financial Advisers say that you should'nt buy shares just for the perks. Only buy if you think it's a good investment.
Some of the top Companies are paying higher dividends than you can currently get for your money in an investment account.
The down side is you could lose some capital if the share price drops so you still need to keep the sockful of cash under the bed.
