Hi everyone,
I searched the Internet for the number 0844 822 4698 and landed on this page.
The reason I was given the number, again, by the catalogue company K&Co, to correct my credit entry and they called it Credit Reference Team.
I open an account with them 15/03/11, that was my first order, which I returned on 18/03/11.
On 21/03/11 they issued a monthly statement. That rather surprised me, silly me I thought it would be after a month like with any bank I had accounts with.
I called them to see if I needed to pay the minimum payments as indicated in the statement for the goods that I had already returned and thus do not owe them anything.
Representative confirmed - goods received but unstatmented. I asked if they still wanted the payment and how long will it take them to issue a refund. She said not to pay it would be adjusted manually.
Here comes the next statement 21/04/11. With a £12 penalty for non-payment.
Call them again. Representative apologised, said the charge would be removed. But if I wanted to take off the entry in my credit file I had to call above number myself.
By coincidence, which I think is not, after I opened an account with K&Co, I started receiving calls selling me various insurances, offering me help dealing with debts, etc.
Overall experience is very much unpleasant. Every week they send me offers and catalogues, which is such waste of paper. Prices with them 10% more than in actual brand shops.
As soon as this outstanding charge sorted I am closing my account with them. If anyone thinks of opening one, think twice. Catalogue checked my credit rating 3 times, whereas when I got my HSBC credit card, bank checked it once, for a significantly larger amount of credit.0
