Merlin Annual Pass Tickets Cheaper Priced

  • I'm a single dad of 2 (13 yr old and 12 yr old), and wanted the passes for the long weekend trip to London just gone. I couldn't get the Family of 3 as its strictly 11 and under...so was told I needed 3 Individual tickets for a whopping £450!

I spent several hours on the net and found a way of bringing the cost down on the 3 Individual tickets...it took a lot of finding but works fine.

Join Candis online for £9.95 a year.

This gives you 25% off the rate....the corporate rate. You have to ring up Merlin, say you're a member of Candis. Pay the fee. They send you confirmation by email. You take this along, with proof of Candis membership and pick up the passes.

Mine cost £337.50...saving £112.50. Well worth it.

We have done Tussauds, Dungeons, London Sealife, London Eye....tomorrow Alton Towers. The thing that really makes a difference is the lack of queuing..just walk through the VIP aisle.

Hope this helps. If you have kids that like rides...this is worth it.

Not really that much of a bargain to be honest.
When the full Annual pass for all venues went on sale in March they were £80 each for a family of 4, meaning £320 in total.
Seems that the renewal price is higher than the original price now!

That said, they're well worth the money, but only if you are selective about when you go.
If you go to any of the theme parks during school holiday's you'll likely end up getting on maybe 4 rides in total as they are so busy.

We went to Legoland on election day - HUGE mistake. The queue to get into the car park was 2 miles long and not moving.
Drove off to Thorpe Park instead and didn't spend more than 5 minutes waiting for any ride.

Took the kids out of school for 2 days in late June and went to both Chessington & Legoland. Again, because schools still on, it was nice and quiet.
  • I have looked at these but my problem is that I work in a school so I can only take the kids on weekends and holidays when the parks are really busy so still have to queue for hours to go on 4 rides in a day :(

They were only that cheap for one day, on the opening day of each park.

I was at Legoland on their Merlin passholder day (when they were at the cheap price) and you would have stood in the queue for a good 2 to 3 hours to get your pass! The queue was massive.

Not true - at the start of the season, they are available online for about 6 weeks at that price.
We kept an eye on the prices from January up until the time we needed to buy them and they were £80 each for a family of 4 until the beginning of April.

Ordered online, printed out receipt and within 15 mins of arriving at Legoland we had the cards.

Just got back from a great day out in Lego Land where I collected my Merlin Passes for a family of three.

I was emailed tickets to print, so we were able to go straight in, and it only took 15 mins to get the cards issued. I may have missed several better offers previosly but I dont think i got a bad deal in the end:
Lego Land refunded £25 in vouchers per pass purchased and quidco tracked.

Merlin Passes family of 3 £330
    - £75 Legoland Vouchers
    - £16.50 Quidco

    = £238.50

    Saving £91.50

In January the merlin pass vouchers (Must be used in 10 mnths of issue) were £75 each (half price) on the madame t's site.
We kept the vouchers until yesterday when we went to chessington and this means we get the rest of this summer and most of next summer so we can spread out our visits.

By the way we managed to get on everything we wanted to yesterday at chessington, surprised as was sunny and a weekend in august.:j

Sounds like quite a short queue for a Legoland attraction ...

    I've been Money Tipped!
I didn't realise that annual pass holders can join a VIP queue at theme parks. Can anyone confirm?
