It all depends on the type of scar, I would ask your doctor. Bio Oil can help some scarring, as can any emollient cream, but other scars require more specialist treatment.Gone ... or have I?0

I use rescue oil on mine, the cheapo version of bio oil, and it works really well:j:j"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Patchouli oil works as well. Mix a couple if drops in 20 ml of grapeseed oil.;)I get paid to smell great :j0

Vit E oil, just !!!!! the capsule and use a tiny amount from it, then you can use it again and again.Thailand 3010/15000 20150

Bio oil worked for me- it didn't take the scar away but it took out the redness and reduced the depth of it (its an appendix scar). I wouldn't say it got rid of it though by a long shot! But did make a noticable difference.
Not sure I could see vaseline working though as it would be too dense to penetrate the skin and would just sit on the surface like a barrier cream.0 -

Hello meames
I've read the responses to your question and see that people are giving you various suggestions.
I had a mole removed and my plastic surgeon advised me to use E45 cream. However, he also showed me how to apply the cream. He told me that it's the massaging of the cream into the scar that helps to reduce the redness and make the scar less visible. As soon as the stitches were removed, I started massaging the E45 cream into the scar daily.
I followed his directions faithfully and I'm pleased that my scar is brilliant................it can't be seen without looking very very closely and then there's only a faint white line.:A
The best thing you can do is to ask your GP or the surgeon if you have his name and contact details and get proper medical advice on what's best for you.;)
