    *** WARNING - This is a book club ***

By "buying" these books for 5p you are joining a BCA run bookclub, that will commit you to 4 further purchases at an unspecified price, and the pain of avoiding all the recommended buys, and cancelling the membership.

No critism meant of the OP, but flagging it up just in case people didn't dig down in to the T&Cs.

If prepared to join ( I would not ) generally works out cheaper to buy from amazon or Bol, or a no commitment club

Well you can always return the 5p stuff within 14 days of getting them, can't you? ( under the distance selling rules)
    My reality check bounced.
  • I'm in the middle of a row with BCA about the non-delivery of an ordered book.

It is very annoying having to use their 0870 number to pay them to be obliged listen to their advertising and be taken through an interminable list of options and sub-options to find there is no way of pointing out that the item charged has not been delivered. Had to write a letter in the end so paid twice for the privilege of complaining. Emails to the company are a waste of time.

The option of buying 4 more in the following year sounds fine until you realise all the books you might want to buy from the list are probably the same ones the major booksellers have on special offers anyway. So no only do you have to pay more you also have to pay p&p. If you don't make your commitment you have to pay the full price for all the books you thought were just 5p so I am totally exasperated with my dealing with this company.

FYI don't forget the SayNoTo0870 website.

This lists the following for BCA:

    0870 1650255 = 01793 548100
    0870 1650216 = 01793 512100
