Incorrect Credit Default Dates

I thought I was out of the woods, having been living within my means for years but on checking my report after trying to obtain credit it turns out defaults which I incurred in 2005 were only registered in 2007.
This is on 3 accounts, all defaulted in 2005:
One account I paid a partial settlement and that shows: agreed and settled (Barclays).
Another I paid off in full in instalments still shows the WHOLE original debt as unpaid and defaulted (Lloyds).
The third I defaulted on in 2005 and am still paying off (£7000) in agreed amounts has a default date of 2007. It was a career development loan that failed to develop anything and I never paid a penny back on till I rang them in 2007 to start repaying. Is this why the default is registered then? (Cooperative)
I'm just saddened, after studenthood I had no money messed up and since then have been very prudent. I want to be credit worthy again, I earn 28,000 a year and save a bit (1500) but my score is apparently 704, worse than when I looked 3 years ago. Now it appears I have to wait exactly another 3 years before I have a clean record.
How can I change the default dates? I've looked and it seems very unclear.
Thanks and apologies for the essay but after this amount of time I thought I would be fine. Newbie.

Tell you who to contact about incorrect information.
Did you receive a default notice about this accounts, they also only have 6 months to place the default as defaults last 6 years and by moving the date forward or delaying it makes the affect last longer, so is unfair and therefore comes under the rule of the OFT.
If after contacting creditors they do not wish to put them back to the date of default, contact the OFT adn they should have it put back.
If however you never recieved default notices the OFT may remove them from the file although as they must send you default notices.
If you have the money do a SAR request (£10) to each creditor and see if they send a copy of the default notice in the paperwork. - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=33791933&postcount=24Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
