It depends what you need to instruct one to do.
If there is anything you can do yourself, do it. For example if you have to supply copy bank records, copy them yourself. If they need info blanked out, do it yourself. Respond to requests for information quickly so that you do not need to have chasing letters sent to you. If you cannot deal with something immediately, let your solicitor or their secretary know straightaway. At least they will know you are dealing with it. If possible give them a time scale you expect it to take so that they know when they should be contacting you again.0
