The Minefield Of Dental Implants

Ok so basically I have a loose front tooth, due to gum diesese, that will at some point need to be removed. I have spoken to my dentist who has given me various options, from dentures to implants and an operation, to peel back the gums, clean out then fill with a powder and restich the gums, and hope it works.
I would prefer an implant but the price quoted was between £2600 to £3000 which seems very high, a possible bone graft needed, but as adverts on the internet vary so wildly in price from £1000 upwards.
How can I find a reputable dentist, preferably in Wales who specializes in gum diesese and implants, who will give me a second unbaised opinion.

I think your dentist has summed things up pretty well.
What second opinion would you want?
For your tooth/teeth to go loose, you will have lost a lot of boney support. Implants also need bone to fix into - hence the need for a graft.
Without a graft, you may well have enough bone left, but the gum around it would look rubbish.
Repairing the effects of gum disease in the 'aesthetic area' - that is the area of your mouth that shows when you smile - is indeed a minefield, for both patient and dentist.
It is far more important you have a dentist you trust than one that is cheap. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0
