I'm SO happy! Oil infusion.

I harvested the roses above yesterday, and put the petals in two jars, one with castor oil and one in suflower oil. I've just gone to prod them with a spoon, to make sure that no bubbles are left and to ensure that they're properly covered in oil, and it smells gorgeous!
I mix them with rosemary and lavender infused olive oil, a touch of coconut oil, and use them for hair, face and body.
I'm experimenting with using sage in the hair oil mix, which is apparently great for hair, and darkens it over lengthy use.
AND I've had some buyers for my rosemary! :T
*floats off in a trail of oily rose scentedness, as of course I spilt some down my top!*

Sounds yummy! I love essential oils and use coconut & rosemary oil on my hair. I make spritzers using essential oils. water, a little vodka (to help disperse the oils), put it in a spray bottle & use it as an all over body spray. Also use it to spray bed linen & round the room
What a wonderful way to bottle up a beautiful summer day!"Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -
That sounds lovely. I have a huge amount of rosemary in the garden and I ought to find a use for it beyond cooking. Thanks for the idea!

Awww, it's great to hear of you all sharing in this happy gardening experience.
I suppose that it's part of the ideal dream life that magazines like Country Living or whatever it's called are selling, and it's actually so close to us and easy to achieve, but all the advertising is geared at steering us away from it and only purchasing our treats and hence happiness in little shop bought packages.0
