in Cutting tax
This thread recommends we seek clarification here of how a landlord of a previously rented property, can move back into the property and how they demonstrate to the HMRC that is it now their PPR.

Does anyone have any info on this or a link to the specific HMRC guidance?
Does a landlord have to have this approved in advance or can this be changed retrospectively if sufficient proof can be provided that the landlord has been resident there?

you can only make a PPR election is you have two homes simultaneously
otherwise its a matter of fact... i.e. you actually live there, pay the council tax, utility bills, receive mail (bank, CC statements), TV license, car insurance etc.0 -
oh, right.
Do you mean 'own' two homes?
My query relates to an owner moving back into the sole property they own which used to be rented out to tenants but I guess the response would also be of interest to those who own two homes and change their residence from one to the other.0 -

it doesn't seem relevant to your situation but making an election about PPR refers to situation were people genuinely have two homes.... maybe living in London during the week and living in your country mansion at weekends (MPs come to mind)
clearly not your situation0
