As most of you know I've been applying left, right and centre for jobs. In the past month I've applied for about 40 jobs.
Well I just walked in today and the house phone was ringing so ran for it and it was a job I applied for! She explained they had such a good turn out that they had narrowed it down, we're ringing them and would invite the best few to a formal interview. And was I available for a quick chat, couldn't really say no!
Turned out to be a bloody telephone interview! What do I know about the company, why do I want to work for them etc etc etc. I was racking my brains trying to remember who on earth they were!
Normally for an interview I do a lot of research on them, but obviously hadn't for this.
So yeh, reckon I screwed that up!
Annoying, but can see why they do it!

I've had a few of those lately, it is annoying esp as I've been applying for a variety of different roles in different industries. I've tended to screen my calls now so I can call back when I have the time and have been able to do some quick research on the company and which role it is I applied for. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
