Credit reports, does anyone know how far they go back?

Hi,

Sorry if this is the wrong place but wasn't quite sure where to post it. I just wondered how many years back a credit report will go. Mine is quite short at the mo from 2003-present. There is one 1 entry on orange from 2003, but my last report is from 2007. I just wondered how long before 2003 drops off the report, if atall?

Generally things stay on for 6years (some things like credit searches only stay on 3years).
What sort of entry is it from orange? Do you mean you haven't requested a copy of your report since 2007?

    Hi Tixy,

Thanks for the info. The entry for orange was a 1-1 overdue payment, all zeros after that though. I'm sure I don't recollect paying that late. I normally pay everything as soon as the statement is available on line or the statement comes through the post. Clearly I need to familiarise myself with the whole up to date credit report.

If your still with orange give them a call and ask about it. The odd late payments doesn't really do much if any harm as blips can happen and sometimes are out of your control. Its only if you miss alot does it really do damage.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

Thanks. Yes it was just the one entry in the middle of the report zeros either side of it.
