Multiple defaults on one credit account?

Hi there,

I have just got a copy of my credit report from the 3 reference agencies. Looking through I see nothing untoward, until I look at the CallCredit file, on there is an account that appears on the Exquifax report for the same amount, details etc. The Equifax entry has 1 default registered back in March 2007, the CallCredit entry has had a default registered every month since March 2008.

Is that right? Can they register a default every month for 2 years? If not how do I go about getting them all removed?

Thanks :)

There should be a proper default with a specific date on it and this date should never be altered.

I'm not that familiar with the callcredit report but I think they put a marker on to shop that the account is still in default/seriously overdue each month but don't actually change the original default date - does that tie in at all with what you can see?

Hi Tixy, thanks for your reply.

There is a default date on the account of 15th March 2007, but there's a "D" underneath every month since March 2008. Last time the account was updated was 30th June 2010, presumably to add another "D".

Equifax just has 1 default for the same account, issued in March 2007 and nothing else.

Should I assume it's just 1 default and will drop off my account once the 6 years is up, or will it stay on my file indefinitely as there seems to be a default registered every month?

I'm sure it will still go 6years from that date March 07 as it is still showing on the report.
