Website visit issue - how can this happen?

This isn't a big deal but it's puzzling me nonetheless. OH is a member of a particular website, he usually stays logged in. When he visits the site again, it says something like 'last visited xx/xx/xx' and also states the time of the visit much as MSE does.
When he visited recently, the log showed he had visited that morning too. As he was at work, he knew it wasn't him and thought it was myself or son who had visited the site on his laptop, but it wasn't. At that particular time (going by the time of my posts on MSE as a reference) I had just gone for a bath and son had just walked out the door with the dog at the same time as I had gone into the bathroom. The bathroom door was only pushed to, not shut properly so I would have heard if he'd come back in. He came back half an hour later with a panting dog so I know he was out all that time. There's not a shred of possibility it was him.
OH isn't bothered but I do think he secretly thinks one of us did it. What makes it worse is that something similar happened a while ago with his xbox account and it turned out at that time that it was my son who had acccessed his account and played on the fly. Son denied it at first but eventually had to admit it was him.
If I had not seen son go out the door with my own eyes, I probably would have thought history was repeating itself so I can see why OH might feel one of us is not being honest. Although I don't think son actually knows much about this particular site anyway as it's for older people and he's not one for chatting on forums.
I can't come up with any rational explantion, so how could a site log a visit from him when no-one used his laptop or visited the site in his user id? At face value, I would have to say someone had done it, but I know no-one did.
Any ideas?

Make sure it's showing the correct time on the forum clock. Log in, then out then back in in 5 minutes and check it's showing the 'last visited' time correctly, a few forums have screwy time zones/times.
Other than that, do you have a talented cat?0 -
Wow, that's a lot of information for a short question.
In summary. It can't. Unless someone knows his user ID.
In the scheme of things, this is not something that most people would notice? I don't think I've ever even noticed the last log in time!Marketing and web design guy. FIRE enthusiast.0 -
He checked the clock on the site, it was ok. As was his own laptop clock.
No cat, and the dog was out so can't blame him either.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Who said it was gonna be a short question?
I only gave so much info to avoid anyone posting 'it must have been x that did it' I was just showing that the people here couldn't have.
Actually, that's an interesting point, I never check my log in times either. I wonder why he did.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Does he sometimes log in from work? [I know you say he did not - bear with me]. Could it be that he opened a web browser which restored a cookied up session with the site?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. No, his job is such that he isn't indoors. Nowhere to access a pc.
It's all very strange.Herman - MP for all!0 -

In summary, that's not really the case. If Windows update reboots my PC, Chrome re-opens with the same pages open I left it with, which causes the last visit time to update.
I've also seen the last visit time change during server maintenance, if a moderator edits or moves one of your posts, or if someone comments on your profile. I've also seen totally nonsensical last visit times.0
