I use a bit of nail polish remover to clean my glass extractor hood and it comes off so easily, just be careful about getting it on anything non glass as it might melt.0

I'm not mad on Stardrops either. I have used Startips as well, this contains amonia.I do most of the housework at my in-laws, and MIL insists i use Startips for the PVC.0

I like Stardrops because I can use it for lots of different things and a very little goes a long way (compared to the other cleaners I have used). It's fab on my stainless steel sink (cream cleaner was a nightmare), I use it in my bathroom, I use it to clean carpet and upholstery and for general things around the house. That's why it gets my vote.
Never assumed it was environmentally friendly though! Far from itI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Nope I don't get the fans either. I swear it's just washing up liquid!0

I try not to use many nasty cleaners as I don't like the chemicals, and have found vinegar or lemon juice is good on grease and I use bicarb on stains/where I would use cream cleaner. I don't like the smell of stardrops either so have never let it get as far as my kitchen!0

I've never seen a stardrop in my life, and I don't intend toBulletproof0

I am glad that I am not alone. I thought it was quite good a first until I realised that I already had homemade cleaners to do the same jobs just as well. I might try it on the carpets to get rid of the rest of the bottle. Perhaps we should set up a soda crystal/vinegar/whatever is cheap in the shop at the time worshipping religion

I am exactly the same. I knew that it must be fairly uneco stuff just by the colour, but I looked up the ingredients (from the Thornton and Ross website):
Water (Aqua)
Sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate
Alkyl ether sulphate
Alcohols C9-11 ethoxylated
Bitrex (Denatonium benzoate) solution
Perfume
Limonene (Dipentene)
Bronopol (2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol)
Colour
 I had thought it might just be liquid soap. It seems overkill for wiping away a bit of grease or coffee stains! With this ingredient list it would be more suited to the Gulf of Mexico right now.0 -
I used to be of the same opinion.... tried stardrops and didn't find it that great. But now I'm a big fan.I think it does lots of little jobs and saves having lots of different cleaning things in the cupboards. Eg, yes there are good spot cleaners for carpets, but i was doing my stair carpets yesterday with diluted stardrops spray yesterday, and it just lifts stains so easily. It also is the only thing I find so easy to use on my laminate and tiled floors to have them gleaming with no effort. i could have different cleaners for all the different jobs, but don't bother anymore.
But fair play to the OP, good on ya for 'coming out'. Sometimes it's a bit scary to do on these forums as you tend to get shot down in flames too easily!!!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D
