Help!! Credit Report problems

Hello, I'm new and wondered if someone could offer me advice.
Briefly : divorced April 2004 from ex husband hopeless with money (CCJ's, mortgage arrears, court fines etc) Now remarried.
Ex husband been using addresses of mine since divorce to shake off bailiffs. I've been out of work for last 10 months (moved from Manchester to South wales while pregnant and found it impossible to get work whilst expecting) so been living on one income for nearly a year running up horrendous credit card debts. I am now working again (in v well paid part time job)
applied for a credit report after being turned down for a credit card (wanted 0% bal trf) and a loan to consolidate crippling bank loan. I'm still deemed to be "financially associated" with my ex husband - could this have an affect on my credit rating and can anyone suggest ways to improve it so I can take advantage of the 0% bal trf's??
many thanks!!!!
Becky

You need to post a note on the credit files of the various agencies (3 of them)to disassociate yourself from your ex. Have a look at the articles elsewhere on this site about credit reference agencies and credit scoring.

contact the agencies and explain your situation and that you are no longer associated with your ex. they should remove the association0
