How much for a magician

Hey
I am going to get a few quotes for this but just wondered how much was reasonable for a few hours for a magician that comes round the tables entertaining guests. Also has anyone had one and would they recommend it.

Ours if £300 for 3 hours.
I'd definately recommend meeting them before you decide on which one you have - we met a couple which just didn't feel 'right' whereas the one we are going with is such a lovely guy and has a really modern style which is perfect for us

I know one - he is charging me £300 for a few hours to entertain at a celebratory dinner.

This guy is truly amazing and is the only magician to ever get 3 x yes votes on Britains Got Talent (don't hold being on that programme against him though).0 -
whereabouts are you?
A young friend of ours is just starting out on his magical career and is really looking for work to gain his reputation, If you're in the NW I can give you his details - don't know his fee though sorry.0 -

Thank you everyone for your replies I am in the midlands, leicestershire if anyone knows of any good ones around here. £250 seems quite good I am really looking for someone who will entertain my guests at the table rather than someone who is a big stage showman (iygwim)Moved in 12/09 Mortgage 126K0

I know that Ben Hanlin travels and he circulates around the tables as opposed to doing a stand up magic show like Ali Bongo and the like.0

Be very careful when booking magicians - you don't want to go for the cheapest act, you want the one who gives the best value. There are a lot of 'cheap' magicians out there who are cheap for a reason.
Make sure you see the magician perform before you book him - anyone can have a good website, but it takes months even years to be able to handle and control an audience well.0
